Erasmus+ BOOST Project Visits the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden

The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm hosted the Erasmus+ BOOST project consortium partners’ study visit in Sweden in June 2017. Representatives from Armenian universities, including Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU), American University of Armenia (AUA), Vanadzor State University, Shirak State University, Yerevan State Conservatory, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia and the National Information Center for Academic Recognition and Mobility, as well as European partner universities from Spain (Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, UPC), Estonia (Tallinn University of Technology, TUT), Portugal (Instituto Superior Técnico, IST), Sweden (KTH), participated in the visit.

The aim of the study visit was to get familiarized with the internationalization practices and policy framework of project’s European partner institutions and to discuss in detail the ongoing and upcoming activities of the project.

KTH presented their ongoing international projects and the art of building internationalization strategies for higher education institutions (HEI). The EU higher education integration process, the success factor of internationalization of higher education as well as internationalization strategies and trends in European higher education were presented.

The BOOST project website, created by AUA, was presented during the meeting. Its design and comprehensive structure was well received.

Within the framework of the program, a visit to the Swedish Institute (SI) was organized for the consortium partners. The presentations by the SI staff highlighted its international goals concerning foreign policy, education, international aid and development, priority areas for cooperation in capacity building, development and exchange programmes (Visby programme).

Recognizing the importance of enhancing the synergy between Erasmus+ projects’ efforts, it is key to capitalize on Erasmus+ HARMONY’s work in the course of Erasmus+BOOST project implementation. In view of this, the BOOST project Coordinator presented the objectives and best practice of the HARMONY project.

IST presented their higher education system, internationalization strategy and policy and the student/staff mobility projects. The Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) from Tarragona, Spain, concluded the second day’s discussions by presenting thoroughly their international strategies and the Systemic Universities Change Towards Internationalization (SUCTI) Erasmus Strategic Partnership project. URV noted that “It is exciting to participate in such an interesting project and looking forward to establishing closer and tighter links with Armenia, the country of origin of many of URV’s master’s and PhD students”.

UPC presented their International Relations Bureau’s operational structure and UPC strategic plan for internationalization, making a special emphasis on enhancing university attractiveness, adaptation of courses, joint programs, positioning in international rankings, promotion in international fairs as well as having more undergraduate and graduate programs in English.

The participants found it interesting to learn also about experiences from TUT towards internationalization strategy of science and research, as well as exchange programs.

At the end, the plan of the upcoming activities for the second half of the year were discussed. This included dissemination and exploitation events, in particular, open conferences at each project partner institution in Armenia to share the European partners’ best practices with other local higher educational institutions, and official launch of the project website. Also, institutional internationalization strategies will be elaborated based on know-how approaches highlighted during the study tour.

Erasmus+ BOOST-ի շրջանակներում Շվեդիայի Թագավորական ինստիտուտ կայացած այցի մասին

Հունիսի 7-9-ը Erasmus+ BOOST /Հայաստանյան համալսարանների միջազգայնացման ռազմավարության և մարքետինգի խթանում/ ծրագրի շրջանակներում Շվեդիայի Թագավորական համալսարանում տեղի ունեցավ ուսումնաճանաչողական առաջին այցը:

Այցին մասնակցում էին 23 մասնակից, այդ թվում՝ Շվեդիայի, Իսպանիայի, Պորտուգալիայի, Էստոնիայի և Հայաստանի բարձրագույն ուսումնական հաստատություններից, ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարարությունից, ակադեմիական փոխճանաչման և շարժունության ազգային տեղեկատվական կենտրոնից:

Ծրագրի համակարգող բուհից՝ Մանկավարժական համալսարանից այցին մասնակցում էին Աշխատակազմի և միջազգային համագործակցության հարցերով պրոռեկտոր Արա Երեմյանը և միջազգային համագործակցության բաժնի մասնագետ Գոհար Առաքելյանը:

Նպատակն էր ուսումնասիրել ծրագրի եվրոպացի գործընկերների կողմից ներկայացված միջազգայանցման փորձը և ռազմավարությունը, ինչպես նաև քննարկել և մշակել ծրագրի հետագա գործողությունները:

Եռօրյա հանդիպման ընթացքում ծրագրի հայաստանյան մասնակիցները ծանոթացան և ուսումնասիրեցին ինչպես ծրագրի եվրոպացի գործընկերների, այնպես էլ Շվեդիայի և այլ համալսարաններից հրավիրված պրոֆեսորների ներկայացրած բարձրագույն ուսումնական հաստատությունների միջազգային բաժինների կառուցվածքը, միջազգային առկա ծրագրերը, շարժունության ծրագերի իրականացման և միջազգայնացաման ընթացակարգը, միջազգայնացման ռազմավարության մշակման գործընթացը:

Ծրագրի հայաստանյան գործընկերների կողմից ներկայացվեց ծրագրի նորաստեղծ կայքի կառուցվածքը, բովանդակությունը, ինչպես նաև Erasmus+ HARMONY ծրագրի մասնակիցների կողմից ՀՀ բուհերի միջազգայանացման ուսումնասիրման նպատակով մշակված գործիքակազմն ու իրականացրած հետազոտության արդյունքները:

Մասնակիցներն այցելեցին նաև Շվեդական ինստիտուտ, ծանոթացան գործող ծրագրերին, համագործակցության շրջանակներին, իրականացվող միջոցառումներին, փոխանակման և զարգացման ծրագրերին, ինչպես նաև դրամաշնորհներին:

Ուսումնաճանաչողական այցն ամփոփվեց կլոր սեղանի շուրջ.մասնակիցները քննարկեցին հանդիպման արդյունքները և պլանավորեցին մոտ ապագայում ակնկալվող գործողությունների կատարումը:
