Presentation on Internationalization Strategy at Vanadzor State University
On February 14, within the scope of Erasmus+ BOOST /Boosting Armenian Universities Internationalization Strategy & Marketing/ project, the Department of Cooperation and Relations of Vanadzor State University initiated a discussion meeting with World Café method for the representatives from the 16 Chairs of the University. At the beginning of the meeting, Gohar Dokholyan, Head of the Department of Cooperation and Relations, made a brief presentation on the key issues and aspects of internationalization, paying a special attention to the active involvement of all the University subdivisions and stakeholders in the development and implementation of the strategic internationalization plan (SIP).
The presentation, which covered the main priorities, goals, and objectives of the SIP, aimed at raising the awareness of the University academic staff about the importance of the integration of internationalization dimension in all University activities, including, but not limited to the curriculum, teaching and learning, and research. The presentation was followed by the discussion of four main directions of the internationalization process: Creation of an international environment and integration of an international dimension into the curriculum; Strengthening the ties with the universities and research organizations outside Armenia; Provision of incentives to increase the number of short-term and long-term inbound mobilities for university staff and students; Strategic management of internationalization and provision of incentives for the inclusion of Armenian universities in global rankings. Each of the four facilitators was working with two Bachelor students who were actively involved in the discussion of all the above-mentioned issues. The main outcomes of the discussion will be analyzed in all the Chairs and subdivisions of the University.
